“Win Some; Blues some”
Check out the energy of SONGEVITY live at the original Kitano Jazz Club. In an intimate setting the band really knows how to breathe together. This night was special with luminaries such as Lee Konitz and Sue Mingus in the house as audience members and a super fun story unfolded…Trumpeter and educator Nabate Isles happened to drop by with his horn. Rob asked on the set break, you want to sit in on one? Slightly nervous, Nabate asked if it was original music or just calling tunes but Rob, believing in him %100, reassured him he ‘would hear it’. The outcome; the recording you’ll hear now! The song, a playful title based on the phrase ‘you win some, you lose some’, exhibits Rob’s love for diverse musical styles often in the same composition.
